Highway robbery: feedback

EDITOR – Excellent article! Please let’s raise this issue loudly at all forums. Let’s challenge the MDC and all the Zanu (PF) officials who want to call themselves patriotic to correct this ZRP robbery. Why there is that silence in government is a causeforf concern.

Where is Parliament? I was made to pay this road block money to cops several times, and in the process was bankrupted. Who do we cry to? – Mash

EDITOR – Thank you for your article. I followed a brand new Ford 2.5 Pick Up Police truck from the Plumtree border to Bulawayo last week. The driver was on his cell phone almost non-stop from the time he left Plumtree. He went through four road blocks and a Zimra Road Toll while on his phone. I enquired at two of the road blocks as to whether it was illegal to be talking on a cell phone whilst driving. At one the Police woman told me she had not noticed, (it was right in front of her) and at the next I was told, “He is the boss so we cannot say anything”. The vehicle had ‘Police Esigodini’ on the door. There are obviously two sets of rules. – Jeff Fenwick

EDITOR – Thank you for a brilliant piece. I am sure something can be done if motorists can get together. We are tired of these harassments by these little educated highway robbers Let us think of ways to organize. – Joe
