The festival, dubbed Ninja Shark Tour, includes celebrated Zimbabwean artists such as Wallace ‘Winky’ Chimuriko, Mic Inity and Desmond ‘Stunner’ Chideme and takes place from August 24 to 26.

In an interview with The Zimbabwean, the dancehall queen said her nomination was a complete shock. “I only started singing 18 months ago and there are many artists with lots of experience in the industry who were left out of this festival,” she said. “This is a big event for the whole of Southern Africa which has in the past featured big names like Dj Cleo and I’m so flattered to have been chosen to participate,” she added.

Lady Bee’s husband and manager Ronald Gwindi said the show is a clear indicator that she is fast growing into a big name. They are still processing travelling documents and hope they do not have to ensure the ordeal of fellow artists such King Shaddy, who was recently denied a UK visa. Lady Bee is the first female reggae dancehall artist to perform in the UK and is billed to perform two shows during her eight day stay. Meanwhile, brother to the Ninja President, Trymore Chimuriko popularly known as Lyaan Soljah, will for the first time perform as a solo artist
