MDC-T youth leader arrested

MDC-T Youth Ward One Organizer, Pedzai Samhungu (23), last week spent four chilly days in police custody after being accused by a soldier, only identified as Tichawona of ZNA 2 Brigade, of undermining the office of the president.

He was arrested on August 20, only to be released at the Prosecutors’ Offices four days later without any charges preferred against him.

“Yes, the MDC-T youth was arrested by police allegedly for undermining the office of President Robert Mugabe. The charges were that he suggested that members of the army were Mugabe’s dogs used to kill innocent civilians. The prosecution found no tangible evidence or reasonable grounds to prosecute,” said a court official.
