PSL Round-up

The second half of the PSL season resumes this weekend, with soccer star of the year finalist, Cliff Sekete, hoping to be the best signing of the transfer window that ended this week.

Sekete joined Dynamos a fortnight ago and played his debut for the Glamour Boys during their match against Highlanders at Babourfields Stadium dubbed the Battle for Zimbabwe Part One.

Sekete moved from Gunners to Dynamos on a three-year-contract, following lack of concrete offers from South Africa. In the two games he has played for Dembare so far, the attacking midfielder has impressed. He helped his side force a draw against unbeaten log leaders, Highlanders and last weekend. The pint-sized player became a darling for the fans, when he helped the defending champions to a 1-0 victory over bitter rivals, Caps United.

Sekete’s abilities are well-known. He was voted one of the best 11 players in the domestic league and runner-up to Denver Mukamba for the Rookie of the Year accolade last season. This resulted in a race for his signature among the country’s four representatives in Caf club tournaments, but chose to stay with Gunners until recently.

Caps United also registered former Warriors playmaker, Shingi Kawondera with Coach Sean Connor hipping praise on him, but no remarkable change has been seen in the Green Machine’s game since his arrival.

Not to be outdone, title-chasing Bosso registered the duo of Takunda Sadiki, young brother to Warriors captain Tapuwa Kapini and prodigal son, Mkokheli Dube, who spent the past few years winning accolades in the USA.

Threatened Hardbody acquired six more players including Dynamos’ former midfielder Esau Amisi.
