Runaway rapist charged

A rape suspect who escaped from lawful custody at the Murehwa Magistrates’ Court has been sentenced to three years in prison. The man, whose identity could not be disclosed, had been remanded in custody after appearing in court facing charges of raping his 13-year-old niece.
