This will be their second congress in three months after electing new provincial leaders. Secretary Khumbu Moyo told The Zimbabwean: “We were supposed to have completed everything on the day new provincial leadership was elected, but we opted for another day to complete the process.”
He urged Zimbabweans to unify and fight Zanu (PF)’s denial of the people’s draft constitution.
Provincial chairperson, Leonard Dube, said, “We support the view that the draft constitution should be taken to the people for their consideration. The different political parties have had their say; the people have spoken through the outreach programmes. It’s time for the constitution to be taken to the people. A new constitution is a step towards a free and fair Zimbabwe,” he said.
Meanwhile, Provincial Treasure, Killian Ncube has lambasted Jonathan Moyo for downplaying people’s views and for disobeying and undermining party leader Ncube.
