
“I actually learnt to play the guitar over the internet in 2010 downloading the notes. Most of the stuff was easy for me maybe because l had the passion since l was a young girl,” she said.
“Besides performing at the Sisters Open Mic l also take part in a variety of charity shows. Soon l will be performing at Arundel primary school alongside Tariro Ruzvidzo and Prayer soul. l was performing recently when Walter Manyanya of Tag Tools offered to pay for me to have lessons at Celebration Church where l am being mentored by Kudakwashe Chambe,”said the 24-year-old.
Chasi draws her inspiration from renowned international female guitarist Tracy Chapman while locally she looks up to Victor Kunonga and says she is impressed by the quality of music now being produced in the country.
“The quality of music now being produced in the country has vastly improved and with much more exposure local artists will be able to compete internationally,” she said.
She recently completed a law degree in South Africa, but music has been her calling since long back. At the moment she is doing the backtracks for Katswe Sisterhood which is set to premiere at 7 Arts Theatre.
