A former Zimbabwe Republic Police officer, leader Chikadaya died in the early hours of May 6 2012 in a fatal car accident in Budiriro 1, 600m from his residence. He died at the age of 36 and survived by his wife and two children. Chikadaya was a well known vicious fighter for democracy who sacrificed his job as a policeman and dedicated his life to fight for people’s freedom. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Mpumelelo Ndlovu aged 27 was elected as the deputy to Chikadaya at our 3rd National Congress held in May last year in Bulawayo. Before that he was the Matabeleland South Youth Provincial deputy Chairperson. His elevation was welcomed by many young people as a strategic move to facilitate the implementation of Chikadaya’s vision since the two were working in the same office.
Mpumelelo will work hand in glove with Happymore Chidziva popularly known as cde leader Bvondo as his deputy. Chidziva was the YA National Secretary for Defence and Security. Mpumelelo and Chidziva will face a mammoth task to live up to Chikadaya’s standards. There are high expectations from the youth in these two chief mobilisers as the Assembly is preparing for a watershed election to be held after the referendum where President Tsvangirai will be taking over as the Head of State.
The MDC Youth Assembly will remain committed to the struggle for real change guided by the heroic spirits of Chikadaya , Learnmore Jongwe , Better Chokururama only to mention but a few.Post published in: News
