The city’s Business Committee Chairperson, Councillor Thomas Muzuva, told The Zimbabwean that the construction of the leisure facility in Eastlea suburb was a positive move set to boost tourist arrivals in the country.
“This is a positive move for the city and it will generate revenue for the council, considering the strategic location and nature of the hotel. We are finalising the negotiations and the construction will comprise of a hotel, supermarket, health spa, and fitness centre, at a total cost of $80m,” said Muzuva.
Preliminary engagements by both parties on the proposed architectural designs of facilities and the estimated project costs were done in July.
