Karuru switches base

He now has the opportunity to prove his mettle against such top European clubs like Anderlecht and Standard Liege. Karuru was dropped from the Warriors team that faces Angola in next Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier due to lack of fitness, as he had not been featuring for the relegated Boulogne. He has been searching for another club since then.

Karuru featured in two of Zimbabwe’s World Cup qualifiers against Guinea and Mozambique, in which the Warriors lost 1-0 and drew 0-0, respectively. The former soccer star of the year finalist, was at the centre of a storm recently, after ZIFA Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Mashingaidze, alleged he, alongside German-based Knowledge Musona, had been involved in match fixing.
