This was after she was found guilty of assaulting a CIO operative only identified as Mutobayiwa, at Cherutombo Shopping Centre early this year. She had been appearing at the Magistrates Court ever since.
After the conviction on Tuesday, Yovita was remanded in custody and spent the night at Saint Thomas Prison, to appear again at the courts the following day for sentencing.
“You have been found guilty of the offence, despite your denials that you acted in self-defence after you were provoked by the complainant. However, the court has considered your plea for mercy,” said Magistrate Edwin Mareche.
