PSL round up

The PSL-Super Sport deal, which will see local premiership matches being beamed live on the pay channel, will leave egg on the face of monolithic broadcaster, ZBC, which has failed to broadcast any live soccer matches so far this season.

The “national broadcaster” has announced results – but only after it came under criticism personally directed at Happison Muchechetere, its Chief Executive Officer.

Super Sport will beam live to 41 countries the last 10 games of this season and then showcase about 20 from next season to 2017. Eight matches will be beamed between Friday and Sunday. The first match to be beamed live was last weekend’s Dynamos-Quelaton clash in the first round of the Mbada Diamonds Cup.

Unconfirmed reports also indicate that Super Sport intends to pour about $25,000 into the coffers of each of the 16 clubs in the league.

Meanwhile Dynamos has extended its lead on top of the log to two points after beating Harare City 1-0. Second placed Highlanders faltered – sharing spoils with Chicken Inn in a goalless draw.
