Pupils walk 52km for development

Pupils from various schools participated in a 52km fundraising walk over the weekend, hosted by the Bulawayo Junior Council and supported by NANGO and UNICEF.

The pupils walked from Ascot Shopping Centre in Bulawayo to Chipangali and back. Junior Council Mayoress, Michaela Farquhar, described the event as a great success.

“This is a great achievement and a credit to my colleagues for a job well done,” said Farquhar.

Western Region Coordinator, Mgcinumuzi Mpofu, said the partnership with the Junior Council was a positive step towards working with children and promoting their participation in development processes.
