A local tourism operator, Clive Dickens, said the lions had imposed a curfew and most tourists had cancelled their bookings.
“We have incurred losses ever since the lions were discovered in our area by some locals. They are killing livestock. Our business has been adversely been affected and the responsible authority should take action now,” said Dickens who operates a lodge.
Another farmer, Martin Dzengerere, said he lost two cattle after the lions invaded his cattle pens. He said they were spending sleepless nights protecting their livestock.
“We are very worried because cattle are our source of wealth and we need to protect them,” said Dzengerere.
