Tembo, who replaced Thomas Madigage, who is now with the South African National team, has had a good run, after seeing Matsantsantsa a Pitori storm into the final of the MTN8 and remain unbeaten in the league.

“Serving the club loyally for so many years has finally paid off for me and this promotion is the highlight of my career,” said Tembo, who also played for the same club since leaving Dynamos. “Being the right hand man of Hunt, who is one of the best tacticians in the game, is a bonus to me. We have done well so far and I am looking forward to a successful debut season at the top.”

He is also looking forward to landing the MTN8 trophy, when the side meets Moroka Swallows at the Orlando Stadium later this month. “Everyone at the club is happy about the achievements and looking forward to the final. The players are already working extra hard in preparation for the final,” said Tembo.
