The move takes the Warriors into the top 100 of the world at number 98 ahead of Togo and Kuwait on 99 and 100 respectively.
In the continental rankings Zimbabwe moved from number 27 to 25 behind Malawi while Cote d’ Ivoire retain top spot. Algeria have taken over second place from Ghana with the Black Stars now in third place.
Spain remain on top of the world followed by Germany, and England with Portugal overtaking Uruguay into fourth place.
Zimbabwe’s opponents Angola are placed 80 in the world and 20 in the Caf rankings and a win for the Warriors at the weekend could see the Warriors push further up.
The match against Angola is another must win for the Warriors who seek a third appearance at the continental showcase whose finals will be hosted by South Africa early next year.
Rhaman Gumbo’s men will aim to win comfortably at home to make their task easier when they visit Luanda for the reverse tie next month.
