The demonstrators who were singing and dancing played a cat- and- mouse game with baton-wielding riot police in the city. The members who were carrying placards and fliers also sporadically demonstrated at various strategic points in the city centre.

"Zanu (PF) should accept the people's views .During the outreach programme, people clearly said they want devolution of power. They also said that they do not want power to reside in one person," reads part of the fliers.

The protesters also expressed their frustration at the lack of implementation of reforms which will lead to free and fair elections.

Woza also demonstrated in the city on Monday.
