He told attendants of the Open Challenge Super Amateur tournament held at Harare Girls High recently: “To be a successful kickboxer, you should exhibit a high level of discipline.” He discouraged alcohol abuse and called on local kickboxers to work as a team by supporting each other.
The ZIKA president said there should be more training in preparation for the high-profile continental championships. He bemoaned lack of sponsorship for the sport, which he said was the biggest stumbling block to their efforts, but gave an assurance that every effort would be put to ensure that the trip becomes a success.
The African Nations Championships are slated for Madagascar on 27-30 September, with Zimbabwe set to be represented by 11 stars.
