“This will give our artists the platform to network and engage with professional colleagues,” said the gallery’s director, Marcus Gora.
“At a time when most visual artists are barely making ends meet, we have made a commitment to professionalise the emerging artist community and develop artists’ careers,” he added.
Wycliffe Mundopa’s work explores the daily life of women of Harare with poignancy, passion and depth using stencils and collages, while Terrence Musekiwa’s sculpture pieces transport the carving tradition of Zimbabwe into the 21st century with energy, anger and humour.
