The Warriors’ first choice goalkeeper said this week he was relieved to be on the mend, although he was still eager to begin light training in less than the four weeks he has been promised by the doctors.
“I will be back fighting for my position before Christmas break. I am a veteran in this game, but the mere thought of being out of the team for so long can sometimes kill one’s morale,” said Kapini, whose ABSSA Premiership club, Amazulu, are struggling.
He also had a word for the Warriors ahead of their tough away encounter to Angola in the final leg of their Afcon qualifier: “I urge the team to treat it as a completely new game to avoid being put under pressure by their supporters. I would also like to urge the millions of Zimbabweans and our media to offer their full support and uplift the boys’ fighting spirit.”
