"Amnesty International believes that some, if not all, of the 31 detainees, are potential prisoners of conscience arrested simply because they are MDCT activists living in Glen View. We are concerned that the death of a police officer is being politicised and that his family may never get justice or know the truth about how he died because of what appears to be an attempt to politicise investigations and the trial."
Some of the detainees have spent over 17 months in custody.
