Chipanga’s son, Delight, died mysteriously in July last year and was buried in Mutare. Chipinge, arguably one of the best composers in the country, last week said: “I am still to come to terms with Delight’s mysterious death. Two months after Delight’s death, we don’t even know post mortem results. It is strange. I dedicated this album to him. It is only God who knows what really happened. Delight partly witnessed how I toiled to make this album a gem.”

Tracks on the album are Dzorai vana, Tamirira humambo, Mutendi haana wake, Handikundwe nerima, Murume wangu and Nguva ichakwana. The album was recorded at Last Power Media and carries soulful and captivating tracks with a blend of gospel tunes.

On the song Dzorai Vana, which promises to be a hit, Chipanga took a swipe at Christians who claim to be prophets and fake pastors.

He sings: “Mwari baba dzorai vana venyu kwovoenda havadzoke. Vana venyu vakuona kudarika imi munopa meso, Vakuziva kukunda imi munopa njere…”

On the song, Murume wangu, Chipanga likens an irresponsible, selfish, inconsiderate husband to inconsistencies of service providers like ZEDTC.

Chipanga is currently on a countrywide tour promoting the new album
