
“We will not just sit and watch Bulawayo residents go thirsty. We have asked for bowsers from other local authorities to be lent to transport water,” he told residents during a stakeholders’ meeting organised by Bulawayo Agenda on Friday.
He said he would not push to have the crisis declared a national disaster because ‘it will not solve anything.’
In a desperate move to conserve water, the council has set different daily water limits for use by individuals and businesses and defaulters will be arrested and prosecuted.
