Japan’s investment team

Japan has dispatched an investment team to Zimbabwe that will research the areas in which they can invest, a top diplomat has said.

In an interview, Yonezo Fukuda, the Japanese Ambassador to Zimbabwe told The Zimbabwean that the studies were in the public and private sectors. “I cannot say exactly when the studies will be completed but I can assure you that it will be sooner rather than later,” said the ambassador.

He added that over the past 10 years, Japan has held back from investing in Zimbabwe because of the economic environment. “We are starting to come in now,” he said.
