Addressing hundreds of MDC-T supporters in Tatazela in Bubi district, Matebeleland North last Saturday Khupe who is suffering from breast cancer thanked her party supporters for praying for her saying that she would get healed.

“I know you have heard a lot about my sickness. Some who don’t like me were saying that Khupe will die, but what I want to tell you today is that I won’t die of cancer. And in the name of God, I have already defeated the disease and I will get healed. I would like to thank all MDC members for the prayers during my difficult moments,” said Khupe.

Khupe was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. Recently she revealed that she had been left with one breast after she went through a successful chemotherapy operation at a South African cancer hospital.

About 30 percent of women with breast cancer have a family history of the disease.

During the same rally, Khupe also blasted Zanu (PF), saying the party had turned most Zimbabweans into destitutes because of bad policies and mismanagement of the country’s economy in the past 32 years.

“Most Zimbabweans have no jobs and are now destitute because of Zanu (PF). They want to die in power. Our country has diamonds and platinum but people are still suffering because of Zanu (PF)‘s corrupt tendencies. We have to kick them out of power completely so that poverty can go,” she said.
