Ncube and his team were conspicuous by their absence at the venue of the conference in Harare.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that Ncube and his delegation decided not to be part of the conference because of a COPAC decision not to include a provision for the devolution of power in the constitutional draft.
Meanwhile, Ncube could not be drawn into comment as his Secretary General Priscilla Misihairambwi Mushonga could also not be reached for comment on her mobile phone.
The conference is supposed to provide a feedback platform regarding the draft constitution and, besides the political parties, is being by attended by civil society and special interest groups, while local and international observers are monitoring the two-day summit.
It is not clear yet what impact the boycott will have, since all the parties are supposed to work collectively in the constitution-making conference.
