After the routine remand hearing the two’s lawyer, Gift Mtisi said he will on Monday make a bail application on behalf of them at the High Court.
Meanwhile, the trial of the other 29 MDC members who are facing similar false charges will resume at the High Court on Monday. The trial had been adjourned for a week after the State counsel; Edmore Nyazamba had indicated that he wanted a bed rest as he was not feeling well.
Nyazamba has been delaying the trial proceedings on several occasions resulting in the defence lawyers raising complaints with the trial judge, Justice Chinembiri Bhunu.
In Masvingo, . Douglas Mwonzora, the Copac chairperson told hundreds of Masvingo residents to expect the referendum on the new draft Constitution in the next three months.
He was addressing a public lecture on the draft Constitution at Civic City Hall in the town. Mwonzora said the issue of homosexuality which was being raised by some misguided Zanu PF politicians who are against the drafting of a new Constitution had been clarified as the issue of allowing homosexuality was not included in the draft.
He said the Bill of Rights would incorporate the rights of all citizens. Mwonzora expressed satisfaction with the progress made on the draft Constitution. The meeting was attended by Okay Machisa who was representing the civic society. Machisa said the civic society was satisfied with was included in the draft Constitution.
Also present was Takavafira Zhou who was representing the civil servants. Zhou said in the new Constitution, civil servants should be allowed to openly participate in politics.
