Passion for spreading the word of God and love for gospel music has inspired the England-based artist into funding the release of his second album and he hopes to get a contract with a record company.
Speaking from his UK base, the 39-year-old preacher attributed his love for gospel music to his strong Christian background.
“Growing up in a Christian family played a big part in shaping my life. We always sang as a family and in church which helped me a lot. I also liked harmonizing artists such as Derrick Ndzimande and Vuyo Mokoena though Benjamin Dube is now my role model and I look up to him for inspiration,” said Maphosa.
“Gospel is my life so there is nothing else I could possibly sing. I want to spread the gospel, it is my duty as a gospel singer and preacher to uplift, encourage and comfort people,” he added. He has just finished doing a video of the track Sovereign God, and preparing for a live DVD recording early next year.
