Oliver Mtukudzi made Ambassador

Internationally acclaimed musician and Zimbabwe’s own living music legend Oliver Mtukudzi has agreed to be the tour Ambassador and guardian for the Acoustic Night All Stars who embark on a European Tour in March 2013.

This 4 week tour was made possible by the Zimbabwe German Society and Wildfire Events through the monthly Acoustic Night events held at the now popular venue and cultural hub, The Zimbabwe German Society (ZGS).

The tour consists of over 20 shows and an intense rehearsal and skills exchange program. The acoustic Night All Stars will comprise of four artists – Rutendo Machiridza, Tariro Ruzvidzo, PrayerSoul and Kelvin Tapi.

These selected artists have been part of the developmental program at the acoustic night and have gone through various training programs and exchange programs that have accorded them the opportunity for a German tour to further their skills and expose them to the international market.

The team will receive sustainability tools from their German counterparts through imparting knowledge and skills for sustaining their businesses beyond the acoustic nights.

Ambassador Oliver Mtukudzi will play a huge role as an advisor in the four artists quest to break into the international arts arena. Ambassador Mutukudzi will exchanging his own experiences of touring the world as part of a mentoring session that the Acoustic Night Star will receive from the legend.

On Monday 15 October 2012 The Acoustic Stars and Ambassador Mtukudzi hold a press conference at The Zimbabwe German Society offices and later have a private luncheon meeting with the Superstar and Tour Ambassador Oliver Mtukudzi. The luncheon will be part of discussions and sharing experiences as Ambassador Mtukudzi gears and arms the Acoustic Stars to make it to the big stage.

The Zimbabwe German Society Director Roberta Wagner was overjoyed at the new developments “The Zimbabwe German Society and the Acoustic Night Stars are honored by Ambassador Oliver Mtukudzi’s drive and enthusiasm to help young artists in his busy schedule, This will go a long way in helping young musicians as they seek a breakthrough in their music careers”, said Miss Wagner.

The Acoustic Night began in 2009 with a handful of musicians and has up to date grown to be a prestigious event that attracts a huge audience.

Acoustic Night has established itself, by producing high-quality live music and grooming of upcoming talent with a burning desire to make it in the arts and provide the professional base for them to make music a viable career.
