PSL Roundup – Photo-finish looms

With only five matches left in the league, chances are high that the 2012 edition, just like the preceding one, will end in a photo-finish.

Dynamos’ position at the apex of the log could not be shaken for at least another week, the same could be said for the tail-end, where Quelaton, Blue Rangers, Gunners and Hardbody remained fighting it out, while Hwange plunged to fifth-from-bottom position.

DeMbare made known their intention to win the golden crown, when they dismissed Hwange 2-0 at the Colliery, a tall order for most teams in the PSL. With the win, they extended their haul to 58 points.

Second-placed Bosso stayed on their rivals’ neck with a 1-0 win over visiting Black Mambas at Barbourfields. The league’s destiny now seemingly lies with the outcome of the crunch encounter between the two sides.

The big question that now remains is, who between the two giants will romp to victory by collecting more of the 15 points that remain before the league winds up?

“It will be more difficult for us not to win the league championship, given the fact that we were the kings last season,” said Dynamos coach, Calisto Pasuwa.

His Bosso rival, Kelvin Kaindu, refused to budge, despite the more difficult task that lies ahead with Dynamos looming large in the return leg.

“We are still in it. I know that we are entering a very difficult round, which will need a lot of concentration from us if we are to achieve the feat. I still believe in the players we have because they are enough ammunition for us to succeed in this jungle,” he said.
