Tuku to star at Cape Town Festival

The first of its kind, The Cape Town World Music Festival will be an accessible inner-city music festival showcasing the best in World Music in a format crafted to enlighten, entertain and engage.

The festival hopes to attract a new culturally curious audience. Cape Town will experience 32 acts over two days on four unique stages, each showcasing diverse music from across the globe – from traditional and roots music to world dance music and modern world adaptations from all continents.

The festival will also host a series of music and industry workshops leading up to the main event at multiple venues around Cape Town, including Harrington Square, the Assembly and the Mahogany Room. The festival will also feature a late night Nu World dance stage featuring the best of world dance music, a local craft market, food stalls and bars

Confirmed artists include: Beanstalk stage: Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi (Zimbabwe), Bholoja (Swaziland); Boom Pam (Israel), DJ Click Band (France), Freshlyground (CPT), The Millennium Experience (Pops Mohamed, OluFemi) (JHB), Adamu (Angola/CPT), Sylvestre Kabassidi In The Bottle (Congo Republic/CPT), Dirty Bounce (CPT), The Brother Moves On (JHB).

Workshops and talk conferences will take place from the 6- 8 November at the Mahogany Room featuring Oliver Mtukudzi, Pops Muhamed, Evan Milton, Siyabonga Mthembu (The Brother Moves On) and more. Workshops are free to the public on a first come first serve basis.
