Zim beauties compete in Scotland

Three Zimbabwean-born beauty queens are set to participate at this years’ Miss Africa Scotland Beauty Pageant next month.

They include Shilla Ziwai (19, a victim of sexual abuse currently writing a book about her sad story and pursuing her career in Criminal Law, Kudzai Mutsiwa (22) who holds a Bachelor of Law with Honours from University of Abertay Dundee and Lynda Gugu Mpofu (23) who holds a degree in Business and Accounting.

“I want to bring pride and honour to my country by winning Miss Africa Scotland. This is like winning an Olympic Gold medal, for it confounds all the negative image of our country and the world will only notice courage and intelligence,” Mpofu told The Zimbabwean.

The event is organised by Lydia Heather Mudhari, a qualified actress, creative director, screenwriter, TV Presenter and Producer of Rainbow Entertainment Productions.

“Our mission is to unite African communities in Scotland by choosing ambassadors that will represent us as one. Zimbabwean representatives are very intelligent. With great skills they are showing and their natural beauty I am convinced and confident that our country will triumph at this years’ pageant show,” said Mudhari.

Other contesting African beauty queens are from Angola, Congo, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Ghana.
