Zimbabwe Australia Business Council (ZABC) to hold Annual General Meeting

The Zimbabwe Australian Business Council (ZABC) Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 25 October 2012 at 1700 hr. The main agenda item for the meeting will be the election of a new ZABC Board. This will comprise the Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and four Board members. The meeting will be held at the Australian Embassy No 1 Green Close, Borrowdale, Harare.

The ZABC was originally founded in 1994 to develop commercial ties between Zimbabwe and Australia, but suspended operations in 2002 due to the economic and political situation in Zimbabwe.

The Zimbabwe Australia Business Council (ZABC) was re-launched on 9 August 2012 during a well attended event at the Australian Embassy in Borrowdale. The ZABC is a non-political business association for people who are currently conducting or who wish to seek opportunities for trade with Australian counterparts.

Membership of the ZABC will guarantee privileges such as a voice in the development of trade and investment links between Australia and Zimbabwe and opportunities for networking, exchange of information and advocacy. Membership fees are USD40.00 for individual members and USD100.00 for corporate members. Please note that only financial members are eligible to vote at the AGM. More information can be obtained from the ZABC secretary to the interim board, Mr Charles Kavumbura (zimbabwe.embassy@dfat.gov.au or +263 4 853 235 20)
