Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara who is the leader of one of the contested MDC factions, and Economic Planning and Investment Promotion Minister Tapiwa Mashakada were insulted by Zimbabwe Tourism Authority board member Cleopatra Mutisi who said to their faces that they do not exist in the inclusive government.

Mrs Mutisi who was representing ZTA board chair Marah Hativagone on Thursday night shocked delegates attending the function while introducing the guest Webster Shamu that ZANU(PF) was in charge of Zimbabwe.

“I would like to introduce to you Media Information and Publicity Minister Webster Shamu who is the national commissar of the ruling party. If you do not know the ruling party here in Zimbabwe it is ZANU (PF),”she said without acknowledging the presence of The deputy prime minister, arthur Mutambaraand Minister Mashakada.

Mutisi’s utterances shocked delegates who booed her.

Deputy Prime Minister Mutambara since the formation of the inclusive government three years ago has been leading the rebranded Zimbabwe Campaign.

“We were supporting Tourism and we are supporting Tourism and the development of Zimbabwe as a nation and we believe we should work together in this endeavour. But I do not want to comment on her utterances,”Deputy Prime Minister Mutambara said in response.

There has been resistance from security forces including parastatals being run by retired Army generals in recognising MDC formations which are part of the inclusive government.

MDC ministers like Jessie Majome and Obert Gutu always complain of being being sidelined by their ministries permanent secretaries who belong to ZANU(PF).

They are kept on the dark of activities and the goings on in their portfolio ministries.
