Zvishavane Bulls in rugby promotion

Local rugby outfit, Zvishavane Bulls, will next year feature in the National Rugby League, after they recently won the Midlands-Matabeleland league.

They become the second side from the province to get a ticket to the supreme rugby league, after Gweru Sports Club. The Bulls pulled through the final hurdle when they dismissed Busters 33-17 at Harstfield Grounds, to top the eight-team league. They later capitalised on the failure by Midlands State University to fulfill their semi-final duel.

Through immense talent of players like center Maclean Mhambi, center fullback, Richard Chigumba and former Sables winger, Emmanuel Munyoro, the bulls might prove a handful for most teams in the NRL.

Club chairman Ganizani Ganizani, revealed that they had started building a competitive team for the NRL. “We will put Zvishavane high on the sporting map and the community should expect fireworks,” he said.
