The case emerged after the accused, Frank Vengesayi, allegedly sprayed the complainant with an unknown substance following a misunderstanding.
Magistrate Kudakwashe Canady heard that on August 8, Vengesayi of Number 10 Claybank, Gweru, employed in the President’s Office, was crossing a road along Third Street. He was then nearly hit by a car belonging to Costan Mukanganiki, 39, who owns Cosfoam electrical shop. Didymus Mareyanadzo was driving.
An exchange of harsh words followed and when the complainants reached a robot, the accused allegedly sprayed them in their faces. Medical reports were produced in court that showed the two had been sprayed with an unknown substance.
The case was remanded to next week for trial. Vengesayi is on bail.
