Dynamos beats Caps to face Monos in Mbada tourney

Dynamos have booked a potentially explosive Mbada Diamonds Cup final against Monomotapa after overcoming bitter rivals Caps United at Barbourfields Stadium Sunday.

Dynamos trounced Caps United 3-0.

This means Dembare are through to their second final of the tournament following the introduction of the competition last year when they beat Motor Action 2-1 in a rain soaked encounter at the National Sports Stadium.

The manner of their destruction of Caps United with goals from Denver Mukamba, Simba Sithole and Roderick Mukamba makes Dynamos favourites to win a tournament in which at the moment they seem unbeatable.

Monomotapa on their part sailed through to the final after beating FC Platinum Saturday at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare.

Monomotapa who won the Premier Soccer League championship in 2008 are hoping for a return to Pan African football having represented Zimbabwe in the Caf Champions League in 2009.

The sponsors have been trying to spread the game to all parts of the country, hence the decision to run Sunday’s Dynamos-Caps game in Bulawayo.

The final will however be at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.

The Zimbabwe Football Association are waiting with baited breath for the winner of the Mbada Diamonds Cup as they want to register the team for the Caf Confederations Cup before the Caf deadline of 30 November.
