The senior Maynyeruke is a well-known gospel artists whilst Guspy Warrior, as he is known by his fans, is a dancehall artist whose music is perceived as wild and wayward.
“God must be praised because my son is still in music circles and did not look for any other profession. I will always support him,” said the senior Manyeruke. “If a child grows up in a God-fearing family, nothing will ever drive him away from the Almighty’s works.”
At first, Guspy Warrior did not want his father to know that he had joined the music industry.
“What stunned me is that when I invited him to one of our shows, he took the show by storm and his colleagues applauded him saying Guspy ndiye anovharisa (meaning he is the king in music),” he added.
Guspy’s distinctive style and vocal arrangements have made him popular with the young.
