The prestigious Megafest Businesswoman of the Year trophy is awarded to organisations and individuals whose businesses have excelled. Last year Mabena was also voted the Female Entrepreneur of the year.
“I am very excited to achieve this feat. The award I won last year inspired me to do better this year. Now that I have come this far, it is important that I do even better next year. I have upcoming young entrepreneurs who look up to me and I cannot afford to let them down,” said Mabena in an interview with The Zimbabwean.
Mabena’s conference centre offers state of the art corporate sector facilities and catering.
“I would like to thank my husband and staff who have all contributed to the success of my business. I am privileged to have a husband who is very supportive and insists on me being thorough in everything I do. I feel we complement each other in this regard,” she said.
Mabena revealed that she was in the process of acquiring a bakery in Bulawayo to complement her catering venture. “I am currently in talks with a leading bakery as I intend to add this venture to my portfolio,” said Mabena.
Mabena urged fellow businesswomen to follow their dreams and believe in themselves. “My advice to young upcoming businesswomen is to nurse their dreams and give them time to mature.”
