The MDC-T provincial chairman for Matabeleland North, Sengezo Tshabangu confirmed the incident which has since been reported at Saucetown police station.
“I can confirm that two Zanu (PF) supporters Takesure Mbano and Tinashe Chikara threatened Moyo with death for being an MDC member.
They said Moyo does not deserve to own a plot because he is an MDC supporter,” said Tshabangu.
Moyo managed to call the police from Saucetown after he blocked the Zanu PF members’ car from escaping. Police have already arrested the two Zanu (PF) officials.
Tshabangu said his party continues to condemn harassment of its members by Zanu Pf functionaries especially in Bubi-Umguza District where Zanu (PF) incumbent MP and Mines minister, Obert Mpofu allegedly uses his ill-gotten wealth to target MDC members.
“The MDC calls upon all citizens to vote out these thugs whose glory is derived from fighting against peace for all Zimbabweans. It is clear that Zanu PF thugs are on the prawl in Matebeleland to orchestrate yet genocide against the people in the region,” said Tshabangu.
