Media fiddles PM’s divorce figures: Timba

Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s aide, Jameson Timba, has accused the media of printing false information about the money the Prime Minister agreed to pay to his former lover, Locardia Karimatsenga, in an out-of-court settlement. The two are reported to have struck a deal whereby Tsvangirai would pay Karimatsenga a lump sum to bring an end to the drawn out dispute.

“This is a private matter and the figures that the media printed are false. Journalists are misleading the people,” he said. “If you recall the two lawyers representing their clients agreed that the matter was confidential.” As part of the settlement, Tsvangirai is reported to have agreed to pay Locardia’s legal expenses while his in-laws are demanding a herd of cattle for the alleged disrespect.
