Zambezi News is the satirical comedy series that has taken Zimbabwe by storm. A parody of a typical Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation news programme, Zambezi News satirizes the relentless propaganda and astounding journalistic ineptitude on state TV. Created by two of Zimbabwe’s pioneering creative minds, Comrade Fatso and Outspoken, Zambezi News hilariously deals with everything from race to sex, from politics to sport, from land reform to hip hop. The series introduces various infectious characters including the hilarious wannabe hip hop crew The Even Mo Lil Swaggery Boyz, the forever-drunk Anonymous Alcoholics, the roving reporters Kephas Josfat and Kevin 'Kevie Kevv' Abrams, the iconic Minister of Impending Projects and the sycophantic talk show host Sixpence Shereni.

Magamba Network is also embarking on a countrywide distribution of Zambezi News. Over the next few weeks 10,000 copies of Season 1 will be distributed throughout Harare, in Bulawayo and other towns across the country. Free promotional DVDs will be given away at robots, events and shopping centres. Meanwhile the DVDs will also be on sale at selected outlets.
