ZIMCET condemns the arrest and detention of CSU staff

Zimbabwe Civic Education Trust( ZIMCET) joins the rest of progressive forces in condemning the recent arrest and subsequent detention of Counselling Services Unit (CSU) staff members and further demands their unconditional release.

On Monday the 5th of November, members of the police raided the CSU offices in Harare in search of ‘offensive and subversive’ material before arresting and detaining Fidelis Mudimu, Zachariah Godi, Tafadzwa Gesa, James Zidzimu and Penn Buno. The move is part of an ongoing crackdown against Non-Governmental Organisations as the nation draws closer to a constitutional referendum and elections.

ZIMCET stands in solidarity with CSU in these difficult times and demand the unconditional release of those arrested and detained.
