The Plumtree council said there was need for development control to synchronise land use as the town was rapidly growing. BCC Town Clerk, Middleton Nyoni, told The Zimbabwean that the local authority had agreed to assist the Plumtree Council to develop the border town.
“From a town planning aspect, there were no objectives to assisting a sister local authority and it was in the general interest of the region that proper planning be put in place in all development areas,” Nyoni said.
He said the Plumtree Council would meet all expenses as the BCC was not in a strong enough financial position to offer services for free.
