“To see people suffering affects me a lot. This project started long ago in church when I saw a lot of old people and disabled committed to the work of the Lord.
I saw that there was a need for them to be sheltered and assisted financially,” said Dube (48), who runs the project with his wife. “We have managed to endure the challenges of clothing the elderly, destitute and feeding these orphans.
Accommodation is not a problem as I share both my houses here and in Bulawayo with all of them. I am more concerned with future of children, that is why I struggle to raise funds so that they go to school,” he added.
The project has seen more than 50 people managing to secure a proper independence since it was introduced in 2004.

Gogo Sithabile Nyoni (72) said, “To me I see hope in Dube. I lost all my children and my relatives deserted me. Since I joined Izenzo I always have food on my table and clothes. I am also looking after my orphan grandchildren with Bishop Dube’s help,” said Nyoni.
One of the beneficiaries, who is now a hotel manager in Johannesburg said: “I am where I am today just because of Bishop Dube. My family was so poor that I couldn’t manage to go to school or have clothes, but he was a parent to me.”
Izenzo zabaPostoli is believed to be the largest Zion church with more than 10,000 members, 22 circuits countrywide and one in South Africa.
