The MDC members are accused of murdering a police officer. Their defense council had applied for bail last Friday based on changed circumstances.
The high court closed normal business for recess/holiday last Friday, which means the trial will only be start again next year. Today Justice Bhunu called for a special court session to hear the state’s side on the bail application, and as usual the state prosecutor, Edmore Nyazamba challenged the application.
Bhunu said he need time to assess the arguments submitted. After his assessment he will call for another special session for his ruling.
The 26 MDC members have been in custody for more than a year.

People like Bhunu’s whole legal practice must be investigated; waht he has been doing on this case is totally, totally unacceptable. We all know that Zimbabwe’s judiciary in corrupt but his conduct in this case is one of the worst abuse of judiciary power!
