King Mswati III’s publication, the Swazi Observer, has projected that the Sikhuphe International Airport might be completed soon so it can open early next year.

Dubbed King Mswati’s ‘vanity project’ by critics, the airport was due to open in 2010, but failed with apologists for the project claiming it was ‘just about to open’ ever since. The Observer reported that the project would be handed over to the Swaziland Civil Aviation Association in March 2013. It would take SWACAA three months to train staff for the actual opening day.
