The 23-year-old former Caps United star missed most of the Urban Warriors’ 15 games so far this season after a knee injury sustained in training about five months ago. He has seen bit-part action since then.
“That injury nearly ruined my otherwise good last season. I have fully recovered now and I believe it is high time I fought hard to get back my starting position in the team,” said Rusike.
“I have played as a substitute so far because the other guys have been fit and playing better, but I know that with full fitness and more determination, I will prove that I am still the good player I was before the injury.”
He revealed that he had embarked on extra training to keep pace with other players and reclaim his position at the Ikamva-based side.
“There will be no Christmas break for me. I will work extra hard to re-sharpen my touches and skills. Fans will see a rejuvenated Tafadzwa next season and most teams will find us hard to beat,” he added.
