Zimfest this year hosts a massive pre-Christmas party on 22 December 2012 at The Maiden Pub, Harare Sports Club from 3pm to midnight.

Initially a full festival had been planned but due to circumstances beyond the organisers control, this has been postponed to April 2013.

The line up is as follows:

Chikwata263

Djembe Monks

DJ Martin (visiting from Holland)

DJ Simba Smooth

DJ Banks

DJ Raydizz

DJ Munya (StarFM)

DJ Rob Macson

DJ Rax

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased in advance from The Maiden Pub and also available at the door on the day.

The Project Manager of the festival Mike Tashaya said, “The event is a pre cursor of our larger event billed to take place in April 2013. We intend to throw a party of epic proportions that will take everyone through to Christmas and enhance the festive mood. We want people to come through and enjoy themselves and get a taste of what Zimfest has to offer.”

Zimfest was established in 2001 by a group of Zimbabweans based in the UK and since grown to become a global brand. The annual festival has been held successfully over the last 12 years. Zimfest has grown to become one of the biggest African festivals and last year attracted over 5000 people.

Testament to the success of the event is the multitude of strategic partnerships that have been established to give the event a unique global presence. Zimfest now takes place in 5 cities across the globe Harare, London, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Perth and Brisbane, attracting Zimbabweans as well as locals in a truly multicultural celebration of Zimbabwean music and culture.

Although Zimfest Harare 2012 will be on a smaller scale it still promises to deliver the same amount of energy and entertainment. The variety of talent that will be present on the day has been carefully selected to deliver all round entertainment and keep everyone on their feet dancing.
