Chimbetu, who had been performing at Mbizo Inn said he met the dancing group at a local Wimpy food outlet before his performance.
“When the ladies recognised me at Wimpy, they asked for assistance. They claimed that they were meant to be performing at Club Yoyo in Kwekwe but the owner of the club had dropped them,” said Chimbetu.
Chimbetu later used the group as an opening act for his show and assisted them with accommodation and bus fare.
“I felt pity for the girls because they did not have a place to sleep and bus fare to travel back to Harare. I had a meeting with my management and we agreed to slot them in as our opening act,” he added.
He said the group were hired by a man called Chamunorwa Rukanya to perform at Club Yoyo. Rukanya could not be contacted when the group arrived in Kwekwe.
